How Far In Advance Should You Book A Wedding Florist?

How Far In Advance Should You Book A Wedding Florist ?

You've booked the venue, picked your date and started your Pinterest Board, but when is the right time to book your wedding florist ??

One question I get asked the most is "How far in advance should we book our wedding flowers?"

While there's not one size fits all answer , I recommend getting in touch with your florist around 10-12 months before your wedding. That gives you plenty of time to chat through your ideas, understand your floral investment and secure your date without feeling rushed !

So when should you book?

12+ months before your wedding

If you're planning a larger scaled wedding, have a particular floral version or getting married in PEAK wedding season, I recommend reaching out early.

Booking 12 months or more in advance gives you time to :

  • Secure your preferred florist
  • Start creating your mood board
  • Discuss your venue and styling
  • Understand your floral budget
  • Explore different flower options
  • Make plenty of changes as your wedding plans come together

What if I don't know what flower I want yet??

That's completely okay

You don't need to come other your first conversation knowing names of flowers, bring your Pinterest Board, your fav colour combos and have an idea of the general feeling of your social day.

As a florist my job is helping you turn those ideas into a floral plan that works for your wedding and educating as we plan.
